Three buttons controlling the pager functions are the On/Read/Select button, the Menu button, and the Backlight/Reset button. The NP88 is compact, lightweight, and easy to use.

Function Indicators for the NP88 pager include Silent Alert, Audible Alert, Alarm, Message Lock, and Continuous Message. Backlighting, Duplicate Message Detection, and Low Battery Indicator are just a few of features of the NP88. Others are Memory Retention, Message Protect, Automatic Alert Reset, Reminder Alert, and Timestamping messages. The NP88 is designed to operate with a single "AAA" alkaline battery.
