The PDR3000 is most suitable for monitoring and remote control applications. The device has multiple input and output options that allow it to perform a number of services. It can print messages directly to a parallel or serial printer, output the message data via 1 or 2 serial ports, and control on-board relays individually using a received message or individual capcode. The PDR3000 can receive data from external devices through the two serial ports or use the ports for controlling devices such as LED signs.
Another feature is a built-in POCSAG paging encoder for repeater or rebroadcast applications. The PDR3000 can accept alarm inputs and retransmit them when an optional transmitter is connected to it. The PDR3000 has four relay control outputs internally and may additionally be interfaced with an external RCM3000 relay board for multiple relay control.
The ruggedized case of the PDR3000 is constructed of glass reinforced ABS, a thermoplastic that gives it a strength similar to aluminum for operation in harsh environments. The PDR3000 is available in a number of optional configurations with different connector combinations. Depending upon the connector configuration, it can be made weathertight to a rating of IP67.
